We are seeking a highly skilled Economist to join our team at Fao. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting economic research and analysis on agrifood systems, including risk analysis, econometric modelling, and impact evaluations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct economic research and analysis on agrifood systems
- Develop and apply econometric models to understand current economic patterns and dynamics
- Provide advice and recommendations to policymakers, businesses, and other stakeholders based on research findings
- Assess the risks and uncertainties faced by agrifood systems in developing countries
- Conduct statistical and economic analysis to understand the potential impacts and develop strategies to manage and mitigate these risks
Requirements:
- Advanced university degree in economics, econometrics, agricultural economics, development economics, statistics, mathematics, or a related field
- At least one year of relevant experience in economic quantitative analysis of agrifood systems
- Working knowledge of English
