Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is a renowned luxury hotel chain with properties worldwide. As a member of their team, you will have the opportunity to work in a stylish and intimate hotel setting, such as the Mandarin Oriental, Milan.

The hotel's two-Michelin-starred restaurant, Seta, offers exquisite dining in a beautiful setting, while the Mandarin Garden provides a relaxed atmosphere with an eclectic choice of contemporary cuisine and cocktails. The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Milan is the city's most comprehensive, offering a holistic approach to rejuvenation and relaxation.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Taking reservations accurately and keeping track of guests' preferences.
  • Greeting and seating guests according to MO standards.
  • Presenting the menu correctly to each guest.
  • Clearing plates and tables, and ensuring general table maintenance throughout the meal.
  • Ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Handling special requests from guests and VIPs.
  • Handling guest complaints.
  • Bidding guests farewell.
  • Anticipating the guests' needs.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in English and Italian language.
  • Ability to set up tables for all meal periods.
  • Ability to set up service stations.
  • Ability to set up the bar/restaurant reception area.
  • Capability of handling all relevant equipment.
  • Ability to handle all reservations and guest inquiries of the bar/restaurants in a timely manner.
  • Preparation of all table arrangements of the bar/restaurants.
  • Ensuring the menus are up-to-date and in excellent condition.
  • Good communication skills within the department and ability to relate messages with other departments within the hotels.
  • Attendance of daily meetings.
  • Attendance of all mandatory training sessions arranged by MO.
  • Performance of all administrative tasks designated to him/her by management.
  • Awareness of and compliance with safe working practices as laid down under FHLSS, including awareness of any specific hazards at your workplace.
  • Awareness of and compliance with local and relevant Food Acts.
  • Wearing any appropriate protective clothing provided by or recommended by the Hotel.
  • Reporting any defects in the building, plant, or equipment according to the Hotel procedures.
  • Ensuring any accidents to colleagues, guests, or visitors are reported in accordance with Hotel procedures.
  • Attendance of all statutory fire training and being fully conversant with and abiding by all rules concerning fire, health & safety.
  • Awareness of Fire safety plans.
  • Adherence to Safe&Sound procedures regarding Health & Safety.
  • Adherence to Safe&Sound procedures regarding HACCP standards.
  • Attendance of any training deemed appropriate by your Head of Department.
