Job Summary:

Villanova University is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our dormitories, offices, and public facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Picks up and disposes of trash, including recyclable materials, in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Operates and maintains automated and powered equipment, such as buffers and carpet cleaning equipment, to ensure optimal cleaning results.
  • Scrubs, strips, seals, and finishes floors to maintain a high level of cleanliness and appearance.
  • Removes snow and ice, and cleans and picks up debris, such as leaves and paper, around entrances and fire exits.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to follow written and oral directions, as well as interact with customers, coworkers, and supervisors in a positive and helpful manner.
  • Ability to climb ladders, bend, and reach, and lift up to 60 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in a custodial or related role.

Working Conditions:

This is a day shift position, with schedules available on Monday-Friday or Sunday-Thursday. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of productivity and attention to detail.
