About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Construction Project Engineer to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Construction Management team, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of our data center projects.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Communication and Coordination: Establish and maintain effective communication and coordination across data center regions, general contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  2. Tracking and Reporting: Develop and maintain a tracking system for construction/design changes, RFI's, work/change orders, build durations, critical priorities, and develop dashboards to track this information for project and regional leadership review.
  3. Vendor Management: Request and review work activity MOPs (Methods of Procedure) for proper detail, necessity, and risk, and develop same with the project team.
  4. Project Management Software: Update project management software with milestone dates, correspondence, and documents.
  5. Delivery and Quality: Monitor delivery of owner furnished material to site, compile and store construction data from vendors, and manage various project checklists including substantial completion checks, safety, and quality.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. 2+ years of experience working in the construction industry or an engineering organization.
  2. Experience updating and managing construction data, including milestone dates, requests for information (RFI), design changes, and change orders.
  3. Experience with developing workflows and tracking systems, including change management, vendor equipment delivery, and document controls across 3 or more organizations/teams.
  4. Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Experience with AutoCAD or similar computer-aided design software.
  2. Experience in a mission facility.
  3. Experience with mechanical systems, including air handlers and building management systems.
  4. Experience with electrical systems, including diesel generators, uninterruptible power systems, switchboards, transformers, and power distribution units.
  5. Experience with fast-track design/build projects and/or multiple significant upgrade projects.
  6. Knowledge of Australian building codes and regulations, including Fire Codes, Building Codes, Energy Efficiency Codes, Sanitary Codes, and Safety Codes.
