About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Legal and Business Affairs Specialist to join our team at Believe, a leading digital music company. As a key member of our legal department, you will be responsible for managing the legal matters of our affiliated companies in Italy, with a focus on contract law and music law.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the legal aspects of commercial agreements, ensuring compliance with Believe's procedures and business rules.
  • Negotiate contracts with customers and providers, in accordance with Group guidelines and in cooperation with the Sales Team.
  • Implement and control the application of Group policies and processes, adapted to comply with Italian local laws.
  • Propose improvements to policies and processes to ensure they remain legally compliant in Italy.
  • Review and negotiate contracts with music labels and artists, or providers when applicable, in accordance with Group guidelines and in cooperation with the Sales Team.
  • Ensure general contracts administration and coordination, including compiling contract terms for the Royalties team and monitoring contract duration.
  • Liaise with Central Business Legal department to seek approval and ensure contracts are fully operable.
  • Assist on corporate life of the affiliates of the Group located in Italy and on local corporate operations.
  • Legal monitoring on the Italy laws, interface of the Group for any local legal matter and risk prevention.
  • Liaise with local external attorneys.
Requirements
  • Master degree in IP law and contract law (Italian laws).
  • Minimum 3 years as a lawyer in the music sector, in an international company would be highly appreciated.
  • Experience on contract processing and control of Group processes.
  • Highly motivated, leadership and organizational skills, with excellent time management skills.
  • Capable of juggling various projects at the same time.
  • Proactive, cooperative and straightforward approach.
  • Excellent attention to detail, autonomous and good adaptation skills.
  • Proven aptitude for reporting.
  • Used to working with Groups headquartered out of Italy.
  • Constant attention to support the needs and deployment of the Group, while protecting its interests.
  • Team player, inter-personal that enable you to communicate efficiently at different levels of the Group in Italy and abroad.
  • Excellent knowledge of music rights and commercial contracts.
  • Confident negotiator of commercial contracts.
