Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Global Social Sustainability Due Diligence Specialist to join our team in the Grid Integration Business Unit at Hitachi Energy. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in driving the development of a management system and related MMRV (measuring, monitoring, reporting, and verification) to enact appropriate human and environmental due diligence processes along the business and value chain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement human rights due diligence policies and procedures to ensure compliance with international and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to address the impact of human rights on business operations and develop appropriate human rights programs.
  • Work closely with the Company and HR to build a community contribution framework and coordinate remedy and community contribution strategies.
  • Provide technical advice on planning and implementation, carry out communication and training measures about human due diligence obligations.
  • Collect and analyze data and evidence necessary for reporting and adapt processes in accordance with evolving mandatory Human Rights Due Diligence legislation.
Requirements
  • Graduate degree in a relevant discipline, such as Sustainability, Business Administration, Social Science, or International/Socio-economic Development.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Human Rights or Social Performance in a business/industry environment.
  • Business and Human Rights related course is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work cross-culturally in an international working environment.
  • Fluent in English.
