Job Title: Climate Change and Agriculture Specialist

FAO is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Climate Change and Agriculture Specialist to join our team in the Asia-Pacific region. The successful candidate will work closely with our regional office and country offices to support the development of climate-resilient agriculture practices and policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the development of climate-resilient agriculture practices and policies in the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Conduct climate change and agriculture assessments and analyses to inform policy and planning decisions.
  • Develop and implement training programs for government officials, farmers, and other stakeholders on climate-resilient agriculture practices.
  • Collaborate with international organizations, governments, and civil society organizations to promote climate-resilient agriculture practices.
  • Provide technical assistance to countries to develop and implement climate-resilient agriculture plans.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in agriculture, climate change, environmental science, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in climate change and agriculture, with a focus on policy and planning.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English and proficiency in another FAO official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish).
