Job Title: Climate Foresight and Scenarios Development Specialist

FAO is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Climate Foresight and Scenarios Development Specialist to support the implementation of a regional project on climate finance and agriculture sector development in Southeast Asia.

Job Summary

The Climate Foresight and Scenarios Development Specialist will assist in analyzing climate-related risks and opportunities in the agriculture sector, involving various stakeholders in a tailored foresight planning process. The specialist will support the preparation of national participatory, agriculture and climate foresight and climate-smart options assessments for three participating countries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the preparation of climate foresight planning briefs and curriculum development for training of trainers (ToT) programs.
  • Design and deliver training materials, including handouts, presentations, and case studies, for ToT programs.
  • Identify and select trainers and conduct briefing sessions to familiarize them with the curriculum and training approach.
  • Assist with the organization and implementation of Foresight Workshops and related reports.
  • Collaborate with the Climate Foresight and Scenarios Development Specialist to develop the Regional Multi-Stakeholder Consultation Report.
Requirements
  • University degree in climate change, land use management, agricultural economics, development economics, project management, or a related field.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in policy advice and analysis relating to foresight and scenario development for food and agriculture systems and climate change.
  • Working knowledge of English and limited knowledge of one of the other FAO official languages.

Selection Criteria
  • Work experience in an international organization or setting on topics related to climate change and agriculture and/or natural resource management.
