Job Summary

The On Wing Support Quality Engineer will be responsible for key functional, business, and company objectives and report to the onsite Quality Manager. In this role, you will solve complex issues affecting the business, executing the long-term business plan and driving quality excellence in the organization. You will work with the larger OWS team (including Global Quality), as well as across-functional team from other organizations. Develop and maintain systems, rules, and processes to ensure fulfillment of internal and external requirements. Ensures that projects and products are capable and will meet specified standards (Preventive). In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and manage the Safety Management System at the shop.
  • Develop a culture of quality within the organization.
  • Perform internal audits and conduct quality and human factor training for staff.
  • Work with the Business Leader and support team to maintain the GE Aviation Production System.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis and PFMEA when required.
  • Own the proactive quality framework for reducing quality risk at the shop.
  • Lead RCCA Execution for the shop facilitating best practice sharing with other Aviation and OWS shops
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and 3+ years of aviation industry experience (or a minimum high school diploma / GED with an additional 4+ years of aviation industry experience).
Desired Characteristics:
  • Knowledge of FAA FAR 145 or EASA Part 145 procedures or equivalent.
  • Experience working with aviation regulatory agencies.
  • Qualified Auditor or Auditing experience.
  • Aeronautical/Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent technical degree.
  • Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn.
  • Transparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively.
  • Focused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committed.
  • Leadership ability: strong communicator, decision-maker, collaborative.
