Senior Technical Expert in Product Development

Aveva is a global leader in industrial software, and we're looking for a skilled technical expert to join our team.

As a Center of Excellence Software Developer, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining AVEVA-based solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with our global CORE team to master customer solutions.
  • Researching, identifying, developing, and recommending program parts to address new features and application issues.
  • Helping customers adopt new solutions and addressing technical problems escalated from level 2 engineers.
  • Assisting application engineers with site-specific difficulties during new site commissioning, system upgrades, and expansions.
  • Participating in power monitoring system development projects, providing information, executing test scenarios, and contributing to product development and testing.
  • Resolving technical problems from internal escalation about application engineers and engineering teams.
  • Identifying and qualifying product and solution failures and assisting in understanding and resolving them.
  • Case tracking by entering cases in our Customer Relationship Management tool and Source repository.
  • Contributing to documenting new solution features using our Knowledge Base tool.
  • Designing, planning, researching, evaluating, and testing complex systems used to monitor and/or control program execution into systems.

Requirements:

  • Programming experience (minimum 5 years desirable).
  • C# and HTML5 coding experience (Web Application).
  • Entity Framework/.NET Core, Angular, and Angular JS.
  • SQL Database querying and programming experience.
  • Experience in software, database, and/or troubleshooting, diagnosis, and problem-solving.
  • Positive attitude, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and customer-focused.
  • People-person and team player, enjoying cross-functional interaction.
  • Quick learner with an inquiring mind.
  • Strong technical writing and oral communications skills in English language.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work with people with a wide range of technical backgrounds.
  • Ability to occasionally travel to various customer sites.
  • Bilingual: English and Spanish/French/Italian/German/Dutch an asset.

Desirable:

  • Manufacturing Execution System experience (MES).
  • Understanding of SCADA and HMI standard.
  • Engineering degree in Electrical, Power Systems, or Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • On-site or off-site advanced technical support experience.
  • Knowledge of AVEVA products.
  • Understanding of control systems and PLC.
  • Controls or transformer protection experience.
  • Experience with CRM systems.
