About the Role

Smartenergy seeks a highly skilled Project Development Manager to join our team in Wollerau, Switzerland.

Your mission is to support the project development department in acquiring and managing PV projects, including Utility Scale, Energy Communities, and Green Hydrogen integration, from site scouting to ready-to-build stage.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the development process up to Ready to Build authorizations for PV projects, including large-scale PV, Renewable Energy Communities, Solar Rooftops, and energy storage systems.
  • Carrying out preliminary technical and environmental assessments for project acquisition in cooperation with Business Development.
  • Defining and following up on project development processes, including timelines, budgets, cash flows, and all necessary reports.
  • Monitoring preliminary designs of projects, identifying, engaging, and supervising engineering consultants to ensure compliance with permitting, environmental, and construction requirements.
  • Managing environmental and construction authorization procedures and supervising permitting and licensing consultants to ensure compliance with design and construction requirements.
  • Liaising with electrical network operators (DSO and TSO), managing web portals up to grid connection execution.
  • Collaborating with engineering and construction departments.
  • Managing communications, archives, and data between competence centers and the Italian branch.
  • Conducting initial feasibility and constraints screening activities using GIS analysis.

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Demonstrable experience in developing, asset management, consultancy, or advisory of greenfield PV projects in Italy.
  • Proven understanding of the Italian regulatory framework related to the energy sector, particularly the development of PV Plants, including environmental and licensing requirements.
  • Knowledge of the Italian electricity system, technical and regulatory, including distributed generation regulations and utilities-related interconnection procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English.
