Overview

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Consultant Engineer to join our Paris Operations Engineering team based in the Milan office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for working closely with clients to identify and mitigate potential risks, ensuring the operational functionality of protective equipment, and developing practical risk improvement plans.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their businesses and identify potential risks and exposures.
  • Conduct on-site loss prevention evaluations to identify reasonably foreseeable physical and human element exposures.
  • Quantify exposures to ensure the Account Team places an appropriate level of attention on the exposure and its impact on the business.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation plans to maximize loss prevention and ensure the protection systems are maintained at all times.
  • Obtain client understanding and agreement on the hazards/exposures discovered and their potential business impact.
  • Develop practical, effective on-site risk improvement plans, including human element/maintenance programs and low/moderate cost physical improvements.
  • Illustrate the value-added differential of FM Global engineering capabilities and educate clients on loss prevention methods.
  • Identify upcoming changes to prevent associated exposures and provide timely high-quality plan review services for medium complexity changes.

Qualifications

  • 5-year degree in chemical or electrical engineering, with a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in production, maintenance, or process hazards consulting in high-challenge industries.
  • Self-starter with problem-solving skills, a solution provider mindset, and a genuine desire to bring about risk improvement.
  • High attention to detail, organizational skills, strong analytical thinking, and logical application.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Fluency in Italian and English, with French and Spanish being a plus.
  • The role requires extensive travel in an assigned geographical area and throughout the operation territory.
