Role Responsibilities

  • Close DENV, DECC, and some affiliates' books according to group standards (IFRS-J) and Belgian statutory rules.
  • Monitor and follow-up operational accounting tasks in the DENV Shared Service Centre and assist the team when necessary.
  • Supervise the workflow in accordance with deadlines and evaluate existing systems and procedures to optimize day-to-day operations.
  • Ensure the correctness of figures and procedures based on internal control procedures (J-Sox rules).
  • Work closely with auditors (internal and external), Finance, Corporate Planning, and Manufacturing Planning departments.
  • Monitor closing activities and operational accounting activities of the DENV Shared Service Centre.
  • Be part of a team that closely works together and supports colleagues in the accounting team in consolidation activities on EMEA level.
  • Involve in a wide range of accounting-related projects, including optimizing, harmonizing, and updating European reporting and valuation rules, as well as managing changes in group structure.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in an economical/financial area.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar position or experience in a big 4 company, accounting firm, or controlling position.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to keep an overview in all situations, and think out-of-the-box.
  • Skilled in presenting complex accounting topics clearly and effectively to senior management and internal stakeholders.
  • Extroverted and communicative, at ease in formal situations.
  • Team player, takes initiative, eager to learn, and work efficiently.
  • Good knowledge of IFRS and Belgian GAAP recommended.
  • Experience with SAP-FI and/or BW an advantage.
  • Fluent in English, knowledge of another European language an asset.
