Software Systems Designer for Fold and Napkin Machinery

We are seeking a skilled Software Systems Designer to join our team at Valmet. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing software systems for industrial automation, collaborating with a team to solve customer requests and improve machinery performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Detailed Engineering team to design software systems for fold and napkin machinery.
  • Develop and manage software updates and improvements for PLC, panels, and motion control systems.
  • Support client projects to solve customer requests and needs during all process phases.
  • Prepare reports and documentation about machinery software and work progress.
  • Participate in machines startups and tests, both in-house and on clients' sites.
  • Implement technical solutions for safety according to regulatory standards.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Electronic/Automation/Computer/Robotics Engineering or similar.
  • Interest in working in industrial automation companies in multinational contexts.
  • Siemens and Rockwell PLC programming knowledge, LAD, HMI, Safety, drive and axis control are appreciated competencies.
  • General knowledge about mechanical and fluidic systems.
  • Proficiency in Ms Office.
  • Experience with C and Visual Basic is a plus.
  • Fluent in Italian and English.
  • Availability to learn and work in team.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Accuracy and precision.
  • Willing to travel if needed.
