As an Energy Policy Specialist, you will play a crucial role in our daily commitment to decarbonising gas markets and supporting the transition to a more sustainable energy future.

About the Role

You will be part of our Regulatory Affairs unit, specifically the Climate Policies and Decarbonisation Market Design team. Your main tasks will include:

  • Overseeing policy and regulatory developments at European and country level in the energy space, with a focus on hydrogen, CCS, and biomethane.
  • Analysing the impact of different policy and regulatory scenarios on energy markets and infrastructure, both qualitatively and quantitatively.
  • Developing policy/market design briefs and concept papers to promote Snam's vision of the evolution of gas infrastructure and the development of underlying markets.
  • Supporting Snam's infrastructure planning through identifying policy enablers to CCS, biomethane, and hydrogen development, with a focus on cross-border trade and network repurposing.
  • Fostering the process of definition of energy scenarios through policy and regulatory input.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
  • 1-3 years of work experience in the energy sector and/or utilities regulation.
  • A track record of delivering high-quality qualitative and quantitative policy and regulatory analysis.
  • Ability to build and foster relationships across various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Fluency in at least two languages, ideally among Italian, English, German, French, and Dutch.
