Hitachi Rail is seeking a skilled O&M Manuals & Training Manager to lead a team of experienced technical writers in producing high-quality operation and maintenance documentation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a group of writers to create customers' operation and maintenance documentation, arranging training courses, and ensuring proper interface management between the Design and Build team and the O&M team.

The position is based in Pistoia, Italy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of technical writers to produce operation and maintenance documentation
  • Ensure timely provision of O&M deliverables and milestones in accordance with project schedule and budget
  • Prepare and deliver Operation & Maintenance Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalog, and Training Program Plan
  • Prepare Technical specifications for subcontractor's manuals and training courses
  • Ensure Technical Writers effectively prioritize high-priority feature release work with other content, experience, and process improvements

Requirements:

  • Two to five years' experience as a project manager or people manager with a technical documentation team
  • Minimum 3 years' railway system engineering experience and knowledge of the integrated systems that comprise a metro system
  • Ability to develop a working knowledge of technical products, processes, applications
  • Ability to learn new technical skills quickly
  • Knowledge and experience in application of railway Technical-Logistic support documentation, associated with any technical system, either rolling stock and/or a rail vehicle
  • International experience and ability to manage international projects
  • Knowledge and ability to review maintenance documentation from sub-suppliers
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Person who is easy to work with
  • Negotiation Skills
  • Leadership Skills
  • Experience in modern Lean and Agile Organization

  • Operation and Maintenance Processes
  • RAMS and Maintenance Plan process
  • Planning and organization
  • Experience in editing software programs
