About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Python Developer to join our team at Planetek Italia SRL. As a key member of our development team, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing software solutions for space missions, satellite systems, and data analysis in the space domain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop Server-Side Applications: Utilize Python and web frameworks such as Django or FastAPI to design and implement server-side applications.
  • Database Management: Design and implement database models and manage database systems, preferably using PostgreSQL.
  • Proxy Server Configuration: Configure and manage proxy servers like Traefik or Nginx to optimize web application performance and security.
  • API Integration: Integrate with external APIs to enable data exchange and third-party service integration.
  • Caching and Performance Optimization: Implement caching strategies and performance optimizations to enhance the efficiency of the web applications.
  • Security Measures: Implement security measures and authentication mechanisms to protect the web applications from unauthorized access.
  • Testing and Debugging: Perform testing and debugging to ensure the quality and stability of the backend code.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the frontend team to understand and integrate frontend technologies effectively.
  • Dependency Management: Utilize dependency management and packaging tools like Poetry to manage project dependencies.
Desirable Skills
  • Workflow Management: Experience with workflow management and data integration tools such as NiFi and Airflow.
  • Message Distribution Systems: Familiarity with message distribution systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ for building event-driven architectures.
  • NoSQL Databases: Knowledge of NoSQL databases like MongoDB and ElasticSearch for handling unstructured data.
  • Configuration Management: Proficient in using configuration management systems like Git for version control.
  • Deployment and DevOps: Understanding of deployment and DevOps practices to ensure smooth deployment and operation of web applications.
  • Agile Development: Familiarity with Agile development practices, including iterative development and continuous integration.
  • Containerization: Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
  • Cloud Computing: Knowledge of cloud computing services, preferably AWS, for deploying and managing web applications.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Backend Python Developer.
  • Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of Python and web frameworks such as Django or FastAPI.
  • Database Management: Strong understanding of RDBMS, preferably PostgreSQL, and proficiency in SQL.
  • Security and Authentication: Sound knowledge of security and authentication best practices in web application development.
  • Testing and Debugging: Proficiency in testing and debugging methodologies for ensuring code quality.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Italian.
