About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Machinery Safety Specialist to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) team, you will play a critical role in driving improvements in safety and efficiency across our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage health and safety programs, collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure compliance with Amazon's policies and regulations.
  • Analyze data reports and root causes to provide leadership with the information needed to make informed safety-related decisions.
  • Provide guidance and support for health and safety projects and policies, ensuring a culture of safety and inclusivity across our sites.
  • Drive programs to improve technical equipment specifications and designs, enhancing safety and efficiency.
  • Travel within the region to support site-based activities and collaborate with colleagues.
About the Team

Our WHS team is dedicated to ensuring the well-being and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities we serve. We work closely with managers, associates, and local governments to ensure compliance with Amazon's policies and regulations, and to maintain safe and healthy workplaces.

Requirements
  • Education to a degree level and ASPP or RSPP certification.
  • Professional training in a technical profession, preferably mechatronics or electrics.
  • Relevant experience managing projects and complying with local Health and Safety legislation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and Italian.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Lean, 5S, and Kaizen methodologies.
  • Qualifications or experience in the field of sustainability.
  • Relevant experience communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including peers and leadership.
  • Chartered membership of a Human Resources industry body (e.g., IOSH) to support people management.
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
