Job Title: Programme Officer - Animal Health and Production

FAO is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Programme Officer to join its Animal Production and Health Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing projects related to animal health and production, with a focus on One Health and disease control.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective project management strategies to achieve divisional objectives.
  • Coordinate and manage project teams, including technical officers and consultants.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to project teams, including policy development and analysis.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, partners, and donors.
  • Monitor and evaluate project progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective action as needed.
Requirements:
  • Advanced university degree in international relations, political science, development studies, or a related field.
  • Seven years of relevant experience in project or programme management, administration, or a related area.
  • Working knowledge (proficient - level C) of English and limited knowledge (intermediate - level B) of another FAO official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish).

Technical/Functional Skills:
  • Work experience in more than one location or area of work, particularly in field positions, is desirable.
  • Extent and relevance of experience in the field of administration, human resources, finance, and management of animal production and health programmes.
  • Demonstrated results-based management skills with the ability to manage programme/projects, budgets, and human resources efficiently under shifting priorities.
