Wood is seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Safety/HSE Design Engineer to join its Projects – Process and Chemical Team.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing Design HSE aspects, studies, and workshops in a wide range of Projects (Refinery, Petrochemical, Pharma) under the coordination of the Design HSE Department Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Chair HAZID and HAZOP workshops
  • Conduct SIL Allocation and LOPA studies
  • Ensure HSE aspects are integrated into engineering design (safety distances, ergonomics, fire & gas, etc.)
  • Manage CE marking according to European Safety Directives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver complex projects

Requirements

  • First or further degree level qualifications in Engineering, Process/Design Safety, or Environmental disciplines
  • Experience in chairing HAZID/HAZOP workshops
  • Experience with SIL Allocation/LOPA studies
  • Knowledge of CE marking according to European Safety Directives
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Multi-tasking approach
  • Availability for business trips
  • TUV (or equivalent) Functional Safety certification
  • Fluent English and good Italian language skills
  • Knowledge of French or German language is a plus
