About the Role

As an Operations Manager at Amazon, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient fulfillment and dispatch of orders to our customers. This key position is responsible for leading operational teams on a shift, addressing issues, and positively impacting site performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop a team of Area Managers to drive operational excellence.
  • Lead operational teams on a shift, deal with issues, and positively impact site performance.
  • Analyze shift performance against relevant business objectives and implement actions to improve operational excellence.
  • Work closely with other support teams, including HR, Finance, Health and Safety, and Security.
  • Design and deliver initiatives across sites to improve operational performance.
A Day in the Life

You will lead shifts at one of our operational sites, serving as the key link between various teams, including finance, safety, and operations integration teams. A typical day will involve meetings with different areas of the business, deep diving into performance and risk metrics for sites, and looking ahead to prepare for different levels of demand.

About the Team

Amazon Logistics, or AMZL, handles 'last mile' delivery duties in partnership with third-party distribution businesses. We utilize creative thinking and continuous improvement initiatives to get millions of physical products into the hands of our customers. Our goal is to make our customers' delivery experience as smooth as possible and roll out global delivery solutions for our newest concepts, like Amazon Fresh, Prime Now, and Amazon Restaurants.

Requirements
  • A degree in a relevant field.
  • Relevant experience in people and stakeholder management.
  • Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and intermediate proficiency in the local language.
  • Relevant experience in using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions.
  • Relevant experience in key areas of production and supply chains.
