The Director of the Trinity College Rome Campus plays a pivotal role in shaping the academic breadth and inclusivity of the Trinity curriculum through strategic programming. With strong connections to the Italian community and Trinity's global network, this leader ensures seamless collaboration between departments, programs, and international partners.
In partnership with the Senior Director for Global Engagement, the Director will develop and implement a forward-thinking global curriculum that aligns with Trinity's mission and meets the needs of students. This involves working closely with faculty and staff to assess curricular effectiveness and ensure student success.
Main Responsibilities- Strategic Planning and Institutional Relations: Foster partnerships with local entities, support program development, and maintain relationships with Trinity's alumni network.
- Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure adherence to local laws, U.S. standards, and Clery Act reporting requirements, overseeing contracts, renewals, and modifications as needed.
- Student Affairs: Provide exceptional student support, including residential life, personal growth, extracurricular activities, and academic success. The Director oversees orientations, safety communications, and handles infractions according to Trinity's Student Code of Conduct.
- Health and Safety: Guarantee access to medical treatment, mental health support, and proper procedures for notifying insurance carriers. Implement safety protocols for student activities, ensuring staff and faculty are adequately trained.
- Academic Planning, Assessment, and Oversight: Develop a global curriculum that supports disciplinary specializations and general education requirements. Collaborate with Trinity leadership and faculty partners to integrate the Rome campus with the Hartford-based campus.
- M.A. degree in a related field or Ph.D./equivalent terminal degree
- Three-to-five years of professional administrative experience in international higher education or a related field
- Familiarity with Italian culture and U.S. higher educational culture
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Italian languages
