HSE Site Lead

Civitanavi Systems Srl Unipersonale is a leading player in the design, development, and manufacture of high-tech solutions for Navigation, Control, and Stabilization Systems in the Aerospace and Defense sectors.

We are seeking an experienced HSE Site Lead to join our team at our Italian facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading all HSE activities on site and will have the ability to recognize strategic opportunities and focus HSE resources to meet critical business needs.

• Actively participate in site leadership team in the areas of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), Strategic Plan (STRAP), Corp. HSEF governance, auditing, management systems, best practice exchanges, compliance initiatives, and governmental/regulatory reporting.
• Prepare and implement the site annual HSEF compliance action plan.
• Successfully integrate HSEF processes with site operations through the Honeywell HSE Management System.
• Lead elements of the ISO-based HSE management system and identify and execute on opportunities to improve it.
• Manage data entry of events into the Management System Tool and escalation to leadership.
• Utilize HSE tools to assess risk, identify compliance obligations, and develop compliance tasks.
• Produce dashboards and reports to monitor and measure performance and drive action.
• Fulfill a leadership role in coordinating successful implementation of HSEF processes to achieve world-class results and drives ISO 45001 certification.
• Conduct regular inspections, audits, and assessments to evaluate the site's performance in relation to Company HSEF directive(s), protocols, guidelines, and country or government regulations.
• Develop and maintain procedures to ensure compliance to all local, country, and company requirements.
• Develop working relationships with local regulatory agencies and serve as the site point of contact for all regulatory agency inspections and inquiries.
• Develop and assist in conducting HSEF training to site personnel (including induction for all new employees) and support the maintenance of training records.
• Interpret existing and proposed changes regarding occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
• Provide coaching and development to site leadership in the areas of HSEF.
• Provide HSEF technical expertise to site personnel and participate as HSEF technical expert.
• Report and communicate incidents and accidents per the corporate protocol, and if applicable, HSE reporting.
• Develop and implement site emergency response plans and serve as the emergency coordinator for events.
• Support site-level root cause incident investigations.
• Assist in developing and implementing corrective actions to resolve HSEF issues and track action items to closure.
• Submit monthly/quarterly/annual reports as per Site and company requirements.
• Assist Site leadership in establishing objectives and metrics in alignment with company HSEF goals and initiatives.
• Manage expenditures in accordance with budgetary process and manage site HSEF projects to budget.
• Organize and chair the safety representative meetings.

• Proficiency in Italian and English language.
• 5 years' experience with HSE programs and regulatory compliance programs.
• Certification in Health, Safety, Environmental, Industrial hygiene, or related discipline.
• Comprehensive experience in Health, Safety, Environmental, and/or Facilities.
• Experience in a manufacturing or related environment.
• Must have management experience.
• Experience with ISO 18001, ISO 45001, or ISO 14001 preferred.
• Comprehensive and technical knowledge of the following aspects is essential: ergonomics, safety engineering, occupational medicine, occupational hygiene, behavior-based safety, Environmental permitting, waste characterizations, Hazardous waste regulations, HSEF Auditing, and a clear understanding and interpretation of HSE laws and regulations.
• Self-motivated with Strong written, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
• Extensive knowledge in applicable Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations as well as knowledge and experience in developing HSE Management Systems.
• Ability to prioritize and manage several projects at one time which producing successful outcomes.
• Self-motivated individual with ability to communicate and implement various HSEF processes at all levels of organization.
• Ability to recognize strategic opportunities and focus HSEF resources to align with and meet critical business needs.
• Excellent working knowledge of MS office and HSEF systems.
• Ability to provide hands-on assistance to operations in the area of HSE compliance.
