Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Specialist to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific in Parma, Italy. As a key member of our logistics operations, you will play a crucial role in implementing logistics solutions and ensuring the smooth execution of import and export activities.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in logistics, with experience in import/export and related document flows for land and air shipments. You will be responsible for handling all shipping documents, verifying their accuracy, and interacting with customers and suppliers to resolve any issues.

You will also serve as the point of contact for all Intercompany shipments, work with couriers and freight forwarders, and coordinate import-export related issues under the supervision of Global Trade Compliance.

In addition, you will suggest and participate in continuous training on new regulations related to import/export activities, maintain the archiving of import and export documentation, and use AS400 to manage tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle all shipping documents (DDT, Packing List, CMR, AWB, Customs Bill) for national, intra-CEE, and extra-CEE shipments
  • Verify the accuracy of import and export documents and interact with customers and suppliers to resolve any issues
  • Serve as the point of contact for all Intercompany shipments
  • Work with couriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and both external and internal customers to handle and coordinate import-export related issues
  • Maintain the archiving of import and export documentation
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A proven track record in logistics, with experience in import/export and related document flows for land and air shipments
  • Proficient in English and Italian, both written and spoken
  • Excellent personal skills, a problem-solving demeanor, and a strong focus on customer happiness
  • Strong attention to detail, adaptability to changes, and the ability to use appropriate communication channels to express concerns and suggestions
  • Basic digital literacy and knowledge of AS400
