Job Summary:

The Department of the Navy is seeking a highly skilled Real Estate Specialist to join our team. As a Real Estate Specialist, you will be responsible for recommending solutions to real property policy issues and interpreting conflicting regulations and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote efficient management of real property.
  • Advise on real estate actions having political, financial, legal, or other impact on Naval operations.
  • Guide personnel on real estate principles, practices, methods, or techniques.
  • Oversee real estate projects, funding of renewal contracts, budget materials, personnel, and other information concerning real estate programs.
  • Provide advice on complex real estate issues and policies.

Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level.
  • This is an overseas position.
  • You will be subject to and must be able to satisfy the overseas requirements of the 26Jul12 DODI 1400.25 V1230.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.
  • You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment.

Qualifications:

  • Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
  • Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
    • Utilizing knowledge of real estate practices, procedures, and principles in real estate contracting and real estate transactions.
    • Overseeing real estate projects, funding of renewal contracts, budget materials, personnel, and other information concerning real estate programs.
    • Providing advice on complex real estate issues and policies.
    • Overseeing the direction of the real estate program for the organization.

  • The NATO Status of Forces Agreement prohibits employment in the U.S. Civilian Component in a host nation of any person who holds dual citizenship of the U.S. and the host nation.
