Job Overview


We are seeking an experienced and innovative Sr. Innovation Engineer to lead the application of new automation technologies into our EU Delivery Station Network.


This role requires a team player with combined robotics, engineering, planning, and analytical skills to define, test, validate, and implement various Robotics and Automation systems in the Delivery Stations network in EU.


About the Job


The successful candidate will be a member of the WW Amazon Logistics Innovation Engineering team and will be responsible for:



  • Defining process paths to automate based on labor, cost, safety, performance, etc.
  • Authoring business cases to introduce automation to the Delivery Stations network to improve performance
  • Collaborating with internal teams to provide technical documentation such as flow diagrams, equipment layouts, installation details, schedules, and budgets for new automation systems
  • Supporting lessons learned program for new robotics and automation system to understand improvements needed for next-generation design iterations
  • Representing AMZL in cross-functional teams to work on future technologies; robotics, automation, IoT to seamlessly integrate those into the Delivery Station eco-system
  • Supporting development and implementation of Service and Maintenance concepts for AMZL Field teams

A Day in the Life


You will ideate and bring to life new technologies for AMZL. Your day could include working with new vendors on developing concepts for AMZL with automation and robotics technology, being in the field and learning the challenges that associates face, writing a business case and working with stakeholders to build a case for piloting new technology, diving deep into understanding how the tech influences AMZL processes and the associate's lives, and iterating on your new ideas to decide for the business on GO/NO-GO for the new tech into AMZL.


What You'll Need


To succeed in this role, you will need:



  • Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience in the design and validation of complex Mechatronic systems
  • Proven capabilities in managing complex projects
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience building with Machine learning, IoT, AI platforms
  • Fluency in English language
  • Knowledge of working with PLCs and coding
  • Experience in using CAD and Simulation tools

Location and Salary


This role will be based either in UK, Germany, or Italy with up to 40% of time on job travel, either domestically or to other EMEA countries. The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.
