Job Description:

The Us Army Installation Management Command is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Child and Youth Program Assistant to join our team in Livorno, Italy. As a key member of our childcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and support to children aged 6 weeks to 18 years.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct activities that meet the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of program participants.
  • Maintain a safe and engaging program environment that promotes positive interactions between children, youth, and adults.
  • Help prepare, arrange, and maintain indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials to accommodate daily schedules.
  • Provide program options for children with special requirements and maintain program participation data.
Requirements:
  • At least 18 years old at time of appointment.
  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card are required.
  • Meet Qualification/eligibility/physical/background requirements for this position.
  • Good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations in accordance with current Army and DoD policy.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactory completion of annual (or transition) training requirements and demonstrated on-the-job competence.
  • May be subject to irregular hours, evening, and/or weekends.
  • Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs., walk, bend, stoop, and stand on a routine basis.
  • Incumbent is legally required to report all suspected incidents of child abuse/neglect.
  • Individuals who have been trained will be required to administer medications prescribed by a physician to children/youth, perform CPR, and first aid.
Eligibility:
  • U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement.
  • NATO countries employment of non-U.S. citizens under U.S. conditions is restricted by the NATO SOFA to individuals who are nationals of a NATO country.
  • Area of consideration is the local commuting area of Livorno, Italy.
