About the Role

Hitachi Rail is seeking an experienced and skilled O&M Manuals & Training Manager to join our team. As a key member of our documentation team, you will be responsible for managing a group of technical writers to produce high-quality operation and maintenance documentation for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead a team of technical writers to produce operation and maintenance documentation, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality output.
  2. Develop and implement processes to ensure effective interface management between the Design and Build team and the O&M team.
  3. Collaborate with the Design and Build team to ensure that operation and maintenance documentation is aligned with project requirements.
  4. Manage the preparation and delivery of operation and maintenance manuals, illustrated parts catalogs, and training program plans.
  5. Ensure that technical writers have the necessary skills and knowledge to produce high-quality documentation.
  6. Develop and implement a plan to review and implement customer feedback on operation and maintenance documentation.
  7. Identify opportunities for process improvement and coordinate the implementation of changes.
  8. Participate in projects, bidding, and delivery phases within project schedule.

Requirements

  1. Minimum 3 years' experience as a project manager or people manager with a technical documentation team.
  2. Minimum 3 years' railway system engineering experience and knowledge of integrated systems that comprise a metro system.
  3. Ability to develop a working knowledge of technical products, processes, and applications.
  4. Ability to learn new technical skills quickly.
  5. Knowledge and experience in application of railway Technical-Logistic support documentation, associated with any technical system, either rolling stock and/or a rail vehicle.
  6. International experience and ability to manage international projects.
  7. Knowledge and ability to review maintenance documentation from sub-suppliers.
  8. Techniques and ways to handle the relationship with a supplier in an integrated supply chain approach.
  9. Willing to cover a global role.
  10. Excellent communication skills.
  11. Person who is easy to work with.
  12. Negotiation Skills.
  13. Leadership Skills.
  14. Experience in modern Lean and Agile Organization.
