Job Title: Senior Quality Assurance Specialist

Join the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) as a Senior Quality Assurance Specialist and contribute to the organization's mission to eradicate rural poverty and hunger.

About the Role

The Senior Quality Assurance Specialist will provide technical leadership and oversight to ensure the effective delivery of divisional programs. S/he will provide technical advice and leadership in the preparation of arms-length reviews of Country Strategic Opportunity Papers (COSOPs), loans and grant Concept Notes (CNs), and design reports presented to Operational Strategy and Policy Guidance Committee (OSC) meetings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight to ensure the effective delivery of divisional programs.
  • Provide technical advice and leadership in the preparation of arms-length reviews of COSOPs, loans and grant CNs, and design reports.
  • Ensure the quality and content of QAG review notes and decision memos.
  • Lead quality assurance reviews on final COSOPs and grant and loan funded projects and programs before submission to the Executive Board and/or the President for decision.
  • Identify cross-cutting and systemic issues, good practices, and lessons learned based on QAG quality assurance reviews.
  • Contribute to the generation and dissemination of knowledge products.
  • Make substantive contributions and technical guidance in internal and external knowledge and learning events, workshops, and conferences.
  • Contribute to the analysis of specific themes, partnerships, and/or issues of corporate interest and strategic relevance in promoting sustainable and inclusive rural transformation.
  • Organize and/or contribute to training and/or capacity building activities.
Requirements
  • Advanced university degree from an accredited institution in a job-related field.
  • At least eight (8) years of progressively responsible professional experience in an international development agency, working on issues related to rural transformation.
  • Three (3) years in a multicultural organization or national organization providing support on a global scope.
  • Position-specific: Direct experience gained in operations of rural development projects is an asset.
  • Excellent English language skills.
  • Desirable: French, Spanish, or Arabic language skills.
