Sales Support Service Overview

The Sales Support Service is a critical function within Trane Technologies, responsible for maximizing customer and order acquisition in line with company strategy. This role plays a key part in managing the day-to-day operation of the quotation process, from initial contact to project fulfillment handover, as well as technical issue resolution for internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Qualify, assess, prioritize, and schedule incoming inquiries, ensuring customer dates are achieved and the customer/SE is updated on any changes or alternatives to their expectations.
  • Select and quote solutions and services to an optimum and competitive standard.
  • Validate and hand over incoming orders to the administrative team in an acceptable timeframe.
  • Ensure pricing and margins are in full compliance with required authorizations.
  • Add value wherever possible, suggesting solutions and up-selling range of products and services.
  • Maintain close communication and liaison with sales engineers on all quotations.
  • Identify and generate potential sales opportunities with existing and new customers, elaborate proposals, and coordinate other processes to ensure high-level customer satisfaction.
  • Present proposals to customers and follow up.
  • Develop, evaluate, and discuss possible solutions with customers and sales engineers.
  • Continuously assess the need and train the team on processes and tools updates.
Other Responsibilities
  • Encourage customer growth and loyalty to the company through continuous support and customer service.
  • Perform according to company strategy in terms of vertical markets, product mix, and selling level.
  • Prepare reports as and when needed.
  • Actively participate in teamwork for various projects.
  • Help keep the customer database updated.
  • Implement local business standards.
Qualifications

A degree in Engineering, preferably Thermodynamics/Mechanics or equivalent, is required. First professional experiences (1-2 years) are preferable. Knowledge of fundamental concepts of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and HVAC systems is desirable. Willingness to increase technical knowledge and availability to travel occasionally are essential. Computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are required, as well as proficiency in Italian and good English language skills. Communication skills and ability to cooperate with different groups are necessary. Sales and customer-oriented skills, working within the team, and being detail-oriented and well-organized are also required.
