Overview

In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and scalability of network systems tailored to specific needs. You will play a crucial role in shaping Huber's network strategy, providing consultation and support to IT teams and business units on all network-related projects and initiatives.

Your role will involve acting as a representative for network technology in various portfolio projects, assisting stakeholders in aligning their requirements with the global technology strategy.

Additionally, you will collaborate closely with engineering teams and the enterprise networking team to ensure that all projects adhere to established network standards and strategies. You will also participate in Huber's second-level support and escalation processes, focusing on network technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional network service delivery, enabling Huber to adopt the latest technologies in line with industry best practices. Ensure the maintenance of a highly available network infrastructure, with a focus on modern manufacturing and a solid understanding of IT/OT services.
  • Manage the lifecycle of Huber Standard equipment, including maintaining valid service contracts and planning replacements according to lifecycle announcements.
  • Conduct ongoing demand analysis and initiate network improvement projects.
  • Oversee optimization, management, and troubleshooting of LAN (Cisco and Cisco Meraki), Wireless LAN (Cisco and Cisco Meraki), firewalls (Fortinet), and data connections (MPLS, VPN, SD-WAN).
  • Plan, present, and implement network infrastructure initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain new network standards and processes.
  • Engage in all aspects of development and operational areas, designing cloud network connectivity architecture.
  • Research, analyze, and recommend technical solutions for complex development and integration challenges.
  • Manage medium-sized local network projects.
  • Document changes, architecture, and issues.
  • Ensure consistent network availability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Hands-on experience in migrating and deploying Huber standard solutions.
  • Over 5 years of experience with Meraki/Cisco technologies, including switching, routing, firewall management, TCP/IP networking, VLAN management, and LAN/Wireless LAN.
  • At least 3 years of experience in designing and developing high availability network architectures.
  • Experience in planning and implementing LAN and wireless networks in a corporate environment.
  • Ability to conduct wireless network surveys and create heatmaps using both open-source and commercial tools.
  • Proficient in installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment such as switches, wireless controllers, access points, firewalls, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Strong knowledge of CISCO Meraki Switching, including STP, RSTP, MST, LAN tuning/protection, VTP, VLANs, and a solid understanding of MAC/CAM/ARP tables.
  • Proficient in addressing mechanisms (DNS, DHCP, IPAM) and L1 technologies (SMF, MMF, DWDM, transceivers).
  • Experienced in packet analysis (Wireshark) and troubleshooting TCP and UDP performance issues.
  • In-depth knowledge of cabling technologies, including Category 5, Category 6A, and fiber optics.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Meraki/Cisco product features, including disaster recovery and remote management.
  • Familiarity with ITIL Change & Configuration Management.
  • Strong analytical skills for network troubleshooting and proficiency with packet capture tools.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and crisis management skills, with the capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient in English; knowledge of Italian or German is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
