Demand Planning Specialist

About the Role:
The Demand Planner is a key member of our Supply Chain team, responsible for generating SKU-level operations forecasts for a specific portfolio of brands. This role involves driving cross-functional alignment to the forecast each month, maintaining the forecast in SAP, and managing the forecast from the aggregate parent code through to the material/DC split level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze current and historical shipment trends, distribution changes, POS data, and trade inventory levels to develop a SKU-level forecast in SAP.
- Reflect market intelligence into the forecast, including brand strategy, pipeline goals, and consumer campaigns.
- Utilize statistical forecast modeling to develop forecast baselines and use the statistical model as the primary forecast driver where appropriate.
- Facilitate the local S&OP process to align on one operational SKU-level forecast across functions.
- Understand and highlight key change items driving gap vs. the Latest Estimate Business Plan/Financial Targets.
- Make recommendations to close the gap as appropriate.
- Partner with Display Project Planners to plan for display activity, adding placeholder/dependent demand requirements and decrementing base demand accordingly due to open stock cannibalization estimates.
- Ensure the forecast splits appropriately across weekly buckets/locations via proportional factors in SAP.
- Proactively communicate pertinent demand information to supply planners, particularly items requiring supply plan changes within lead-time.
- Support new product forecasting process in cooperation with local commercial teams.
- Monitor actual monthly sales and adjust demand models as appropriate.
Requirements:
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret large amounts of data.
- MS Office knowledge at a relevant level (focus on Excel).
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to execute communications at all levels of the organization.
- Degree in Economics or Management Engineering.
