Job Title: Simulator Technician

CAE is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Simulator Technician to join our team in Rome, Italy. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our brand-new Training Center.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support for Flight Simulator Training Devices and Cabin Crew Training Devices, including troubleshooting complex issues and performing daily readiness checks.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure the highest level of operational excellence in all aspects of training device maintenance, including attending flight crew and maintenance calls.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex training device issues and AOGs, working closely with specialists as needed.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously improve procedures related to training device maintenance tasks, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Training and Development: Provide on-the-job technical training to other technicians, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with specialists on complex issues requiring extensive testing, troubleshooting, research, and design.
  • System Maintenance: Maintain and support the FSTD operations Management System, ensuring seamless integration with other systems.
  • Logistics and Inventory: Maintain and request consumable items and tools required for PMTs and Daily Readiness, ensuring efficient logistics and inventory management.
  • Compliance and Safety: Foster a workplace culture consistent with CAE's mission, vision, guiding principles, and values, ensuring occupational Safety and Health in the workplace and associated metrics.

Requirements:

  • Education: Technical College Diploma or Degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Aviation Field.
  • Experience: At least 3 to 6 years of related work experience.
  • Language: Excellent knowledge of English, read, spoken, and written; knowledge of Italian language preferable.
  • Skills: Highly customer-oriented with ability to establish and maintain effective relationships, skilled working knowledge of computer mainframe/architecture, networking, operating systems, and programming languages.
  • Knowledge: Proficient technical background (Hardware and Software) and familiarity with FSTD technical issues, proficient knowledge of various aircraft types, including Commercial Jetliners (Airbus family).
