Job Title: Senior Simulator Technician

CAE is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Simulator Technician to join our team in Rome, Italy.

Job Summary:

The Senior Simulator Technician will be responsible for supporting all training center operations activities to provide a smooth, efficient, and high-quality service. This includes technical and operational aspects of Flight Simulator Training Devices and Cabin Crew Training Devices, as well as troubleshooting and resolving complex training device issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support all technical and operational aspects of Flight Simulator Training Devices and Cabin Crew Training Devices.
  • Attend flight crew and maintenance calls, perform daily readiness, and act as the technical lead during flyouts.
  • Identify and diagnose complex training device issues and AOGs, and take the lead to troubleshoot and resolve them.
  • Suggest and perform hardware design, refurbishment, and modifications as deemed required.
  • Identify recurring issues and work to pursue permanent solutions.
  • Perform in the role of lead technical caretaker as required.
  • Seek and make improvements to procedures related to various training device maintenance tasks.
  • Through coaching and mentoring, provide on-the-job technical training to other technicians.
  • Assume the role of technical expert for multiple simulator systems.
  • Support the Technical Operations Leader in the assignment of daily tasks and special projects.
  • Work with specialists on complex issues that require extensive testing, troubleshooting, research, and design.
  • Assure, maintain, and support the FSTD operations Management System.
Requirements:
  • Technical College Diploma or Degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Aviation Field and at least 6 to 8 years of related work experience.
  • Must have the rights to work within the EU.
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language, read, spoken, and written. Knowledge of the Italian language would be preferable and beneficial in support of the operations.
  • Highly customer-oriented, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the customer.
  • Advanced working knowledge of computer mainframe/architecture, networking, operating systems, and programming languages.
  • In-depth technical background (Hardware and Software) and familiarity with FSTD technical issues, across all systems.
  • Vast knowledge of various aircraft types, including Commercial Jetliners (Airbus family).
  • Advanced understanding of aircraft and training device terminology.
  • Advanced understanding of Commercial Aviation training.
  • In-depth knowledge of local & International (EASA, ENAC, etc.) regulations, with demonstrated experience.
  • Advanced computer skills with knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
