Propulsion Test Engineer

D-Orbit is seeking a highly skilled Propulsion Test Engineer to join our MAIT engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the Assembly, Integration and Testing of propulsion components and subsystems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the integration and testing of propulsion components and subsystems under clean room conditions.
  • Develop and maintain propulsion test plans and procedures.
  • Design, improve and maintain FGSE (Fluidic Ground Support Equipment) and fluidic test benches.
  • Provide technical input to projects to ensure that new processes and test methods are optimized for propulsion activities.
  • Collaborate with the quality team for inspections, investigations and non-conformances.
  • Define and design tooling and test setups for pressure tests.
  • Author technical documents.
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of experience in aerospace propulsion systems or fluidic systems.
  • Design and hands-on experience with propulsion or fluidic systems.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and fluidic systems and basics of electrical engineering.
  • Experience in writing engineering documents and procedures.
  • Knowledge of safety principles and best practices while working with high pressure fluids.
  • Quality driven approach with high attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional proficiency in English.
  • University degree in Aerospace/Space Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.

This role involves occasional travel to supplier and test facilities, requiring the ability to travel accordingly.

Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Knowledge of ATEX & PED directives.
  • Programming experience (Python, Labview, etc.).
  • Familiarity with relevant testing procedures & standards (e.g., ECSS).
  • Knowledge of space propulsion and thermal subsystems.
  • HazOp.
  • Fluency in Italian.
