About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at D-Orbit. As a key member of our systems engineering team, you will be responsible for the customization of flight-qualified platforms and the design of new advanced missions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate systems and specialist engineers to design and develop spacecraft systems, ensuring safe and successful flight to orbit.
  • Interface with the Program Manager to support planning and management tasks.
  • Coordinate with the Procurement team to support the procurement process of test and flight parts.
  • Work with the manufacturing team and AIV team to define test plans, procedures, and setup, and monitor AIV progress.
  • Interface with the Flight Operations team to support the definition of ConOps, mission timelines, and operations plans.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in spacecraft design and development.
  • Strong knowledge of space systems engineering and space systems architectures.
  • Systems-level knowledge of all spacecraft subsystems.
  • Experience in systems budgets and trade-off analyses.
  • Experience in satellite verification and validation approaches.
  • Experience in planning and management tasks.
  • Experience in procurement processes.
  • Experience in requirements management tools.
  • Basic knowledge of software development and configuration management.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in institutional projects with ESA, ASI, or other agencies.
  • Knowledge of ECSS/NASA standards.
  • Experience in mission analysis and usage of dedicated tools.
  • Working experience in space transportation and servicing applications.
  • Experience in carrying out tests in relevant space contexts.
  • Experience in launch campaign activities and interfacing with launch providers.
  • Programming skills.
  • Experience in MBSE.
