About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Support Coordinator to join our team at the International School of Bergamo. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the inclusion of all students and promoting a culture of inclusivity and diversity.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and implementing the special educational needs provision across the school, working closely with teaching staff, parents, and other agencies to ensure that students with special educational needs receive the support they require.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote an ethos and culture that supports the inclusion of all students
  • Determine the strategic development of the special educational needs provision throughout the school
  • Be responsible for specific provision to support individual pupils with special educational needs or a disability
  • Provide professional guidance to colleagues and work closely with staff, parents, and other agencies
  • Ensure Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Personalised Support Plans (PSPs) are in place and records are maintained up to date
  • Collaborate with the IB Team for accommodations in exams
  • Provide support in class, small groups, or one-to-one
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a university degree in special education or a related discipline, with additional qualifications relating to special educational needs. Fluency in English is essential, and Italian is an advantage. The successful candidate will also hold an EU passport or have already obtained the right to be employed in Italy.
