Role Overview

The primary focus of this position is to assist in the engineering design processes, particularly concerning pressure-retaining components utilized in nuclear applications. This includes the design and sizing of specialized components, ensuring the identification of optimal solutions from conceptual to detailed design stages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the execution of design tasks.
  • Prepare technical specifications, conduct mechanical stress analysis, and create models and drawings.
  • Perform technical evaluations of supplier proposals and manage the technical oversight of supplies.
  • Monitor manufacturing processes up to factory acceptance testing.
  • Assist with on-site installation and testing of mechanical components.
  • Lead mono-disciplinary working groups.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering. A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical component design is required.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Proficient in mechanical component design.
  • Familiarity with sizing and calculations of mechanical components, including 3D modeling and BIM methodology.
  • Understanding of construction and manufacturing standards (e.g., ASME, EN13445) and EU Directives (e.g., Machine Directive, PED).
  • Advanced skills in Finite Element Modeling software (e.g., Ansys or similar structural analysis software).
  • Ability to thrive in a multicultural environment.
  • Proactive with a strong personal drive and initiative.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
