We are currently seeking a Vehicle Cost Engineer to join our team, reporting directly to the Product Line Director.
In this role, you will oversee cost engineering initiatives from the early project phase through to production completion, ensuring alignment with product development timelines, key milestones, and project budgets to meet established targets.
- Establish technical and technological strategies to meet material costs and project investment goals set by the Finance department.
- Conduct comprehensive cost analyses.
- Serve as a liaison between Finance, Procurement, and R&D to ensure cohesive activities from target definition to value engineering throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Manage the change control process and compile status reports to maintain target costs.
- Support profitability initiatives and cost-effective design by actively involving R&D, After Sales, and Procurement departments.
- Provide regular updates to the Product Line Director regarding the project's cost status.
About You
- A degree in Engineering is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in managing complex technical projects.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing, engineering, and financial principles.
- Proficient in English; knowledge of German is a plus.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Self-assured and adaptable.
- Ability to work collaboratively in international teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including empathy and active listening.
- Effective communication and conflict resolution abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
