Role Overview

The primary objective of this role is to manage and execute the design of PLC and control systems for both new and existing industrial wastewater treatment facilities. This position involves creating electrical schematics and providing remote troubleshooting support to clients regarding control system issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop PLC-based control systems for new installations or modifications to existing wastewater treatment systems.
  • Collaborate with control specialists, manufacturing teams, and electrical departments to ensure design specifications are met.
  • Create and maintain PLC programs, memory maps, and programming documentation.
  • Proficient in Siemens programming; familiarity with GE, Allen Bradley, and Mitsubishi PLCs is advantageous.
  • Experience in HMI programming using TIA Portal and other relevant languages.
  • Manage project timelines and provide regular updates to the Controls Manager.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and service technicians to resolve technical issues.
  • Travel to client locations as necessary for design assessments, installations, and troubleshooting.
  • Incorporate design feedback and collaborate with team members for continuous improvement.
  • Follow best practices for design and documentation.
  • Comply with industry standards and regulations such as NEC, NEMA, and UL.
  • Focus on timely project delivery in alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Engage with various departments within the Envio business unit and other ESI divisions as required.
Qualifications

Candidates should possess at least an associate's degree in electrical engineering or automation, along with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in the wastewater treatment sector or a comparable combination of education and experience.

Required Skills
  • Familiarity with wastewater treatment processes and related products is beneficial.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical expertise is essential.
  • Hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with clients and colleagues.
  • Proficient writing and verbal communication skills for internal and external interactions.
  • Strong time management abilities, with a focus on prioritizing tasks and meeting objectives.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project demands.
Competencies
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Good command of the English language.
Education

Associate's Degree in Engineering or Industrial Engineering is required.
