About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team at OPEN MIND Technologies AG. As a key member of our software development team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and developing low-level mathematical algorithms in our geometrical kernel.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics, physics, or mechanical engineering, and possess in-depth knowledge of C++. You will be responsible for analyzing requirements, enhancing existing software modules, and designing and developing new algorithms to support the design process within our software.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work collaboratively with our product management and innovation team to ensure timely delivery and alignment with project objectives. You will also contribute your innovative ideas and participate in brainstorming sessions to develop new solution concepts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with the team to analyze requirements for new and ongoing development of our CAD software.
  • Software Enhancement: Enhance existing software modules and participate in implementing new product features to improve functionality and usability.
  • Algorithm Design and Development: Maintain and increase basic geometrical kernel functions for colleagues and product management, and design and develop algorithms to support the design process.
  • Agile Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the product management and innovation team to ensure timely delivery and alignment with project objectives.
  • Idea Contribution: Contribute innovative ideas and participate in brainstorming sessions to develop new solution concepts.
Requirements
  • Educational Background: Successfully completed studies in mathematics, physics, or mechanical engineering.
  • Proficiency in C++: Possess in-depth knowledge and proficiency in C++.
  • Experience in Software Development: 3-5 years of professional experience working with software used in development.
  • Passion for Mathematical Problem-Solving: Show a strong interest in mathematical questions, such as those from differential geometry or computational geometry, and derive practical solutions.
  • Fluency in Communication: Communicate fluently in both Italian and English.
