Job Title: Head of Mechanical Department

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Mechanical Department to join our team at Relais & Châteaux. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical services department, ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel's mechanical systems, and providing exceptional customer service to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the mechanical services department, including maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of mechanical systems.
  • Ensure that all mechanical systems are functioning properly and efficiently, and that any issues are addressed promptly.
  • Supervise a team of mechanical technicians and engineers, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and protocols to ensure the longevity and efficiency of mechanical systems.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including engineering, facilities, and housekeeping, to ensure seamless operations and exceptional guest experiences.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and manage budgets for mechanical services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, and implement new technologies and techniques as needed.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in a mechanical services or operations role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
  • Proven track record of success in managing mechanical services teams and ensuring exceptional customer service.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex mechanical issues.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering exceptional results.
  • Fluency in English and Italian, with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
