Amazon is seeking a highly skilled Senior Economist to join our team. As a Senior Economist, you will play a key role in helping us make informed business decisions by analyzing complex data sets and developing econometric models.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and apply econometric models to large data sets to solve business problems
- Partner with senior management, business stakeholders, scientists, and engineers to identify key business issues and develop solutions
- Work in a fast-paced environment to address quantitative problems and contribute to the design of automated systems
- Develop techniques that apply econometrics to large data sets and address quantitative problems
- PhD in economics or equivalent
- 5+ years of relevant, broad research science experience after PhD degree or equivalent
- Advanced expertise and knowledge of applying observational causal inference methods
- Strong background in statistics methodology, applications to business problems, and/or big data
- Ability to work in a fast-paced business environment
- Strong research track record
- Effective verbal and written communications skills with both economists and non-economist audiences
