Job Summary

Zoetis is seeking a highly skilled Microbiology Laboratory Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for maintaining the microbiology laboratory, ensuring that all equipment and supplies are properly cleaned and sterilized, and organizing and cataloging samples.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sample Preparation: Prepare samples for indicator organisms, sterility tests, working and Master cell cultures.
  • Aseptic Techniques: Apply aseptic techniques in daily workload.
  • Media and Reagents: Maintain media and reagents as needed for daily microbiological testing.
  • Quality Control: Perform quality control monitoring by taking incubator temperatures, inoculating control organisms, running media controls, etc.
  • Independent Work: Independently pursue an assigned series of processes, procedures, or techniques in accordance with Zoetis policies and procedures.
  • Laboratory Conditions: Maintain laboratory conditions, to include equipment, supplies, quality assurance programs, and accurate records throughout all procedures.
  • Team Collaboration: Work together with a multidisciplinary team for complex investigations and problem-solving activities.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in biology, biotechnology, microbiology, or related discipline.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of industrial or academic laboratory experience in microbiology.
  • Skills: Good knowledge of GxP, excellent written and spoken communication and management ability, strong interpersonal and communication skills, organized and able to implement laboratory routine programs, broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures used in a microbiology laboratory, strong sense of responsibility, good speaking and listening in English (B2 level required), proficient in office software like Words, PowerPoint and Excel, EHS awareness and ability to identify risks, ability to carry out urgent tasks, self-motivated and flexible to learn and respond to changing responsibilities and priorities.
