Job Description

Renewco Power is seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Manager to lead our renewable energy projects from initial feasibility studies to Ready to Build (RtB) status. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to our development team, mentoring junior engineers, and working closely with our Technical Director to prioritize and assign tasks within the department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Design and Development: Provide technical support to the development team to enable system feasibility assessments, preliminary layouts, and yield studies, drawings, modeling, and any other technical documents to obtain all the needed permits, tenders, and pre-construction design of Europe, UK, and US projects pipeline.
  • Mentorship and Training: Support and mentor the career development of junior engineers.
  • Task Prioritization and Coordination: Support Technical Director in prioritizing and assigning tasks within the Department. Liaise with Development team to coordinate design requirements, studies, scheduling, and for estimation of project CAPEX, OPEX, and time scheduling.
  • Partner Collaboration: Work with external partners to provide, check, control, and approve customer-focused system designs for Utility scale Solar PV, Wind, Storage, and Green Hydrogen projects.
  • Design Optimization: Challenge our partners to have a constant optimization in our designs, technically and cost-wise.
  • Process Development: Participate in the definition of best practices and processes aligned with industry standards.
  • On-Site Support: Provide technical on-site support as required.
  • Technical Expertise: Contribute to building Renewco Power's technical expertise.
  • Health and Safety: Follow Renewco Power's Health and Safety policy in all aspects of the work.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: A degree or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering preferred, however, other engineering disciplines will be considered.
  • Experience: At least 5+ years' experience working as a project manager/engineer in wind and/or solar for an EPC or consultancy company.
  • Technical Skills: Have a thorough understanding of engineering concepts and principles specifically renewable energy generation, mechanical, electrical, and structural design. Proficient in working with CAD software (2D and 3D AutoCAD), PVsyst, Solar Resource Assessment, and Meteorological Data from sources like Solargis and Meteonorm. Knowledge of PVCase, WindPro, Wind Planner, and/or Boxkite is an advantage but not compulsory. Proficient in working with MS Excel to develop complex models and macros. Broad understanding of LV and HV electrical standards and design tools. Broad understanding of the relevant energy, chemical, mechanical, and electrical standards. Have analytical skills. Display an innovative approach to problem-solving.
  • Communication and Corporate Essentials: Fluent in Spanish and English, other languages are a plus. Effectively communicate technical issues to colleagues, developers, and consultants. Be able to visualize and communicate ideas. Have an appreciation of the wider business and environmental impact of design. Willingness and ability to travel. Commitment to Renewco Power's mission and working principles is essential.
