Job DescriptionJob Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to serve as the Chief Transfer Student Experience Officer in our Office for Undergraduate Students. This critical role will oversee the external and internal transfer student enrollment process, ensuring a seamless transition for students from diverse backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Course Articulation and Scheduling for CLAS Transfer Students: Conduct preliminary assessments of transcripts and syllabi to determine transfer credit for approximately 200-300 applicants per year.
  • Advise Students: Act as primary academic advisor for all internal transfers to CLAS from other VU Colleges and external transfer students, meeting with students to discuss potential majors, minors, and time to degree completion.
  • Coordinate Programming: Collaborate with Admissions Office staff, Athletics, and other stakeholders to support incoming transfer students, including organizing transfer student orientation programming and events.
  • Teach and Mentor: Develop and teach a 1-credit course and other programming for CLAS transfer students, contributing to OUS Academic Advising Projects, and attending transfer student events and admission events on occasion.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred, preferably in a liberal arts and sciences discipline.
  • Familiarity with the academic policies and procedures of a university and preferably CLAS curriculum.
  • At least two years of academic advising experience at the college level required, with excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • A commitment to developing the academic, professional, and personal well-being of students, with a willingness and ability to work with students on a case-by-case basis.
Estimated Salary

$83,000 - $105,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
