Job Title: Seed Security Assessment Specialist

FAO is seeking a highly skilled Seed Security Assessment Specialist to join our team in Rome, Italy.

About the Role

The Seed Security Assessment Specialist will contribute to FAO's work in seed security assessments, including planning, data collection, analysis, and communication of results. The incumbent will lead the implementation of seed security assessments in FAO Member Countries, develop SSA-informed project proposals, and contribute to the development of training materials and training courses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation of seed security assessments in FAO Member Countries, including planning, data collection, analysis, and communication of results.
  • Develop SSA-informed project proposals for seed security interventions, especially under emergency situations.
  • Contribute to the development of training materials and training courses on relevant themes, including seed security assessments.
Requirements
  • Advanced university degree in agronomy, impact evaluation, or related fields.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in agricultural/rural development or humanitarian assistance in agriculture.
  • Working knowledge of English and limited knowledge of French and/or Arabic.

  • Work experience with an international humanitarian or development organization.
