Job Title: Seed Security Assessment Specialist

FAO is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Seed Security Assessment Specialist to join our team in Rome, Italy.

Job Summary:

The Seed Security Assessment Specialist will be responsible for leading the implementation of Seed Security Assessments (SSAs) in FAO Member Countries. This includes providing oversight for the planning of assessments, engaging local, national, and international stakeholders in their designs and implementation, leading field teams in-country to conduct SSA, and disseminating SSA results to national and international stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the implementation of SSAs in FAO Member Countries
  • Contribute to the development of SSA-informed, quality project proposals for seed security interventions
  • Contribute to the development of training materials for, and in the organization and delivery of, training courses on relevant themes, including SSA
Requirements:
  • Advanced university degree in agronomy, impact evaluation, or related fields
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in agricultural/rural development or in humanitarian assistance in agriculture
  • Working knowledge of English and limited knowledge of French and/or Arabic
