Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Engineer to join our team at Marriott International. As a key member of our hotel operations team, you will be responsible for managing all maintenance and safety operations to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for our guests and employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee all engineering and maintenance operations, including building maintenance, grounds maintenance, and physical plant operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including Italian Fire & Life Safety Legislation and Marriott International corporate policies.
  • Lead the emergency response team and collaborate with colleagues to ensure the safety and security of guests and employees.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records and logs, including maintenance schedules, inventory, and equipment performance.
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance and repair programs to minimize downtime and optimize resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including housekeeping, front office, and food and beverage, to ensure seamless operations and excellent guest service.
  • Manage and control departmental budgets, including capital expenditures, maintenance, and supplies.
  • Supervise and train engineering staff, including maintenance technicians, electricians, and plumbers.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies to continuously improve maintenance and engineering operations.
Requirements
  • Technical high school or degree in Civil/Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity in hotel engineering or maintenance.
  • Proven track record of managing and maintaining complex engineering systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Fluency in English and Italian, with the ability to communicate effectively with guests, employees, and vendors.
