About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Innovation Market and Technology Strategist to join our dynamic team at Vertiv. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in driving innovation and growth in the Large Power Converters market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Present Roadmaps: Create and present development roadmaps for new technologies, markets, applications, and business models that could potentially become new significant business streams.
  • Identify Key Trends and Opportunities: Identify key technological trends and opportunities within the assigned areas, balancing technical innovation with practical business needs.
  • Develop Business Cases: Create business cases inclusive of revenue production and revenue support.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with technology development, ensuring robustness, scalability, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Contingency Planning: Develop contingency plans for potential technology disruptions or challenges in the roadmap.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Provide subject matter expertise and market direction for the research areas assigned, connected to (but not limited to) large data center power infrastructure.
  • Innovation in Large Power Converters: Foster innovation in Large Power Converters systems, focusing on advancements that enhance reliability, efficiency, and performance in large-scale applications like data centers.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work in coordination with the Global Advanced Technology and Innovation leaderships and teams, as well as collaborate with Offering, R&D teams, product management, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to translate technology opportunities into viable products and solutions.
  • External Partnerships: Engage with external partners, universities, and research institutions to stay ahead of emerging technologies and industry standards.
  • Thought Leadership: If necessary, be a thought leader for assigned advanced offerings both internally and externally.
  • Global Portfolio Strategy: Contribute to the global portfolio product strategy and go-to-market plans.
  • Customer Engagement: Attend tradeshows and visit key customers to ensure an accurate voice of customer is embedded in the development roadmap.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree: Master's Degree in Engineering or Applied Science related technical degree.
  • Business Acumen: MBA or MBI (Master of Business Innovation) and prior consulting, strategic planning or product marketing preferred.
  • Complex Problem-Solving: Ability to navigate complex, cross-disciplinary challenges and drive solutions that balance technical innovation with practical business needs.
  • Visionary Mindset: Visionary mindset with the ability to anticipate industry shifts and innovate accordingly.
  • Network Development: Contribute to build a strong network within the power electronics and electrical power industry.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written/oral technical communication, especially in communicating customer needs.
  • Research and Analytical Skills: Very strong research and analytical skills.
  • Global Collaboration: Participation in global calls outside of normal working hours.
  • Industry Experience: Experience with 3-phase power distribution or UPS systems or Battery storage systems is preferred.
  • Language Skills: Fluent English.
